Typically, as we start a new year, we look back on the previous year but also focus on the future. On January 27th, magazine publishing industry members gathered to learn what difference a year makes with respect to the Newsstand. It was a look back on the previous year’s activities, but also a look forward to what we as an industry need to continue to do to keep the Newsstand viable for all of its members in the supply chain.
This seminar was certainly well-attended and as a result, lively discussion ensued. Lots of positive input came from the different quadrants of the group. A few of the topics covered were:
- The impact of the change to pass-through RDA
- What it takes to be successful in today’s environment
- What can be done about maintaining, or even growing space for the category at retail
- When should a magazine go on the newsstand and more…
