Seminar – Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL)

  • 03:30 PM
  • The Spoke Club, 600 King Street West, 4th Floor, Toronto
  • (416)504-0274

This seminar will be hosted by Daniel Glover, Partner with McCarthy Tétrault LLP, who will provide an overview of CASL and how it impacts media owners. Starting with a summary of CASL, Daniel will follow with the organizational changes that should have been made, as well as the scope of CASL enforcement and what we may expect in the future.

Why should all media owners attend this session? The answer is simple. There were many industry-wide sessions hosted prior to CASL coming into effect on July 1, 2014. Since this time, more than 120,000 complaints have been filed concerning CASL and CRTC is pursuing numerous investigations and has announced its first enforcement resolution under CASL. Recently, CRTC has issued an undisclosed number of Notices of Production that have the potential to be very costly and onerous for businesses to respond to.
Registrants are encouraged to email specific questions concerning CASL to Tim Peel (mpeel@bpaww.com) in advance of this session to include your questions in the seminar discussion.
